In the first week of October, we delivered a new brightly colored tanker truck to Hastings, NE. This truck is a 2015 Mack Granite GU813, Mack MP-8, 455 HP, Allison Automatic. This truck’s tank is a new 3300-gallon poly Elliptical Tank. Along with the new tank, this apparatus includes a Berkeley B2-1/2 ZRMS PTO Driven transfer pump 550gpm. The tanker truck delivered to Hastings is a part of the Commander series we produce. The commander series apparatus we delivered to Hastings was painted yellow and gray.
Most of our custom-made fire apparatus are painted red before they are delivered. Red is the most common fire truck color, so it makes sense that a non-red job is rare. The other trucks and tanks at Hastings FPD in Hastings, NE, also share the same yellow and gray color scheme. The department outfitted this Commander series apparatus with decals after the delivery was completed.
If you have followed along with our deliveries, you know we have gone far in getting these apparatuses delivered. The journey to Hastings, NE, was about 500 miles, but we have completed deliveries even further. Comparatively, one of our furthest deliveries was to Paradise Hill in Saskatchewan, Canada, with a one-way journey being about 1,500 miles.
