Check the Pump
One of the first and most important items on fire tanker truck maintenance is always checking the pump to ensure it’s in working order.
This is probably one of the most essential items on your truck, and you need to pay special attention to it when performing maintenance. Without the pump, it’s just a truck that can’t help anyone!

Check the Oil and Tires
Just like with any machinery, don’t forget about the basics! Always check the tire pressure to ensure you’re not going to be riding on flats any time soon.
Also, make sure to check out the oil. Does it need an oil change? If so, it’s time to get to it! Never leave an oil change for later because you’re hurting your engine. Your equipment will not last if you don’t treat it well.
Make Sure to Check the Equipment
When you’re making a run-through of your truck, make sure that you also check to make sure all of your equipment is in working order.
Add oil to squeaky hinges, carefully put back equipment so it’s ready to go when and where you need it, and ensure everything is in its place.
You don’t want to be searching for something during an emergency because you thought you put it back somewhere, but it’s not there.
